How To Balance Your Mind, Body and Weight
* I am not interested in the simplistic and naïve approach to over-weight that talks only of dieting, calorie counting or exercise. Instead I am much more interested in your relationship to your own body; how any imbalances in your body and brain lead to problems with your eating patterns and your weight; and most importantly, how to rectify these imbalances and have a healthier relationship with food and with yourself.
Food is so much more than just food for most of us, and we hoard it or reject it because of our own psychological and emotional connections to it. How you feel about our body, and whether you want to healthily nourish and take care of it, or not, will also be part of the mix.
There are many more causes of being overweight and obese than simply eating too much food and exercising too little. There are many factors that affect the subtle balance of your hormones, blood-sugar levels, your tendency to store fat and your ability to release and burn it. Not least of which is the consumption of heavily processed food with chemical additives which are alien to our bodies and place a huge burden upon our health.
It is time for a more holistic and comprehensive approach to the problems of excess weight and the associated health problems this creates for so many people. If we can take proper care of our bodies, and keep our bodily systems in balance, this then frees us all up to have healthier lives with the energy we need to function well, and it also allows us to take on new challenges and enrich our lives in new ways.
There will be a lot for you to ‘digest’ in this online workshop, and it will certainly nourish your mind! You can expect to find out about the many and varied reasons for being overweight; to learn about a great many food facts that you did not know; to understand how your brain is involved with your eating style and the ways in which you can balance your brain and body systems, which will in turn regulate your weight; how to improve your relationship with your body and with food; and how to eat consciously and with heightened awareness of the process and its consequences for your body and mind.
