Self Esteem, Confidence and Assertiveness
* Feeling ‘not good enough’, or the object of the negative judgements of others, seriously restricts our enjoyment of life and even our ability to fully engage with life and the situations and people that we will encounter. We may have a genetic predisposition to being cautious, timid and fearful; but it is our subsequent upbringing that will either reinforce or change this for us.
Even if our lack of self-esteem and self-worth is long-standing and ingrained it is never too late to make some significant changes and improvements.
Very few of us have a stable and consistent sense of our own worth, value and competence. We are all a ‘work in progress’—some people are further on than others, but we are all still journeying to self-improvement. We just need the right guidance, advice and opportunities—at the right time—to help us to develop into who we can, and who we deserve to be.
By working through this online workshop module you will give yourself the opportunity to understand the roots of low self-esteem; the labels you have been given—which you may still be holding onto; the ‘programming’ that you continually run which reinforces your sense of inferiority; as well as an understanding of what assertive behaviour really is, and how and when to use it; how to deal with difficult people; the different levels and styles of communication and their appropriate contexts; and how to have better ‘contact’ with yourself and with others.
